This will be my 1st blog. There has been something bothering me for many years. It got much worse after my wife and I started riding public transportation, including Metrolink, to help save our environment and money. It became a burning anger when an idiot parked his Jeep Cherokee on the tracks while trying to kill himself, then he chickened out and survived. Now we have some moron text messaging, missing a red light and taking a trainload of people head-on into a freight train.

 So, this brings me to a few questions that I have to ask;

 Why in the HELL do these trains have unprotected passenger cars crashing into locomotives and parked cars? Why not have a locomotive at each end, or an empty boxcar, or a specially designed crashcar to absorb the impact, instead a car full of people?

 Why in the HELL don’t these trains have seatbelts? That goes for all trains, busses, tour busses, and especially school busses with our children and grandchildren aboard?

 Why in the HELL did the seats get ripped out of the floor and become flying missiles?

 Why in the HELL are these commuter trains running on the same tracks as freight trains anyway?

 I realize it costs extra money to change these things, but it’s not much compared to loss of life, injuries, and property. Also loss of passengers due to fear of getting on one of these trains again.
